manic monday...

Well... I did it I watched every single minute of the Oscars- starting at 6pm. There were 8 or 9 of us who made food and got together to watch.. I had fun, and enjoyed the show.. I got 12 categories correct and came in third place. I also got to show my house to some of my new friends as the party was right next door to me at my neighbor Patricia and David's house. Its interesting, we are spending more time together now, than we ever have in the past 8 years we have been neighbors.

Had a good conversation with my Douglas on Friday night, 22 whole minutes.. that's the longest phone conversation yet. I told him how I have been hanging back and giving him the time and space to concentrate on the task at hand, he doesn't need any added distractions.. I really don't want to abuse my phone, e-mail and facebook priveledges. He said thanks, but that I can call anytime and I am not abusing anything as of yet.
This weekend will make 3 weeks since I have laid eyes hands or lips on him. I really miss him. Last week it was better that we didn't see each other - I was sick and a raving bitch.. He said he had gotten enough of that in his marriage and appreciated my efforts to stay away. For the first time ever, I have sent a rather suggestive and amorus e-mail... we'll hope for a favorable response.
I am off to Chattanooga this Saturday to spend time with Michellecares and am really looking forward to it. Next week a bunch of us go to Savannah.. so I have no free weekends til March 14..
Mom was very cute this weekend fishing and trying to figure out if I was going to Chattanooga with anyone.. (like Douglas) I think its too soon for us to be going out of town together.. we'll have to try that later- if we get that far.
For me to be thinking about what I am contemplating doing for him- is a huge and momentous thing for me.. I really thought this door had been closed for me forever..
and I would never ever want to do this again..

Wish me luck everyone..

Monday Monday....

Hi all its a beautiful Monday here in South Carolina.
First the bad news, 3 of my co-workers were laid off this morning.. Very Scary.

Good news, I had a wonderful valentines day of pampering.. I went and had a pedicure, bought myself flowers, went to a movie I wanted to see - and had a nice dinner. I have learned that you need to take care of yourself - because noone else will. I spoke to my Douglas on saturday afternoon/evening- glad he made it home safely. I just treated it like any other weekend and didn't make a big deal about the holiday. Good thing too, I have a cold and was practically ordered to bed under the warming blanket because I sounded awful.
Of course I didn't listen- and felt worse on Sunday. I did accomplish my goal though, I have now seen the 5 films nominated for best picture. Chaundra and I saw The Reader, the first hour of which is like a soft porn movie- I could tell that the young actor playing the part of Michael was european from the brief full frontal shot we got of him. Chaundra was a bit embarrassed- but I really enjoyed it.. ( I even resisted making a booty call when I got home.) The rest of the gang joined us for Frost Nixon later in the afternoon - wow what a movie.. Frank Langella did such a wonderful job, he even sounded like Nixon.. I am torn now on who I want for Best Actor - Sean Penn as Harvey Milk, or Frank Langella as Richard Nixon.. Oh well, its not up to me.

I think I really shocked Chaundra with some of our discussion on the way back to her house after our whirlwind day.. I have to remember that she's only 24 and not over share as I often do..
Looks like another busy couple of weeks for me. No free weekends til March 13-15.
I have plans both Saturday night and Sunday this week, next weekend I get to see michellecares in Chattanooga and the following a bunch of us are going to Savannah..
I refuse to be that girl-- you know the one, who ditches plans with her friends just bcause a guy wants to see her.. Perhaps, Douglas and I will get to catch up this week- I think I kind of "shocked" and hopefully amused him when I said that I need to see him in order to "have my way with him"... Planning a hot oil full body massage when I next get him to my house.
Will be back with updates as they happen.

Black Friday Eve..

well... another Valentines day is coming up this weekend.. I will do my usual wear black and pretend its another day. I am going to pamper myself and have a pedicure and take myself to a movie on saturday afternoon- then Sunday I will meet up with some friends and complete my Oscars quest.. 2 more to see and I will have seen all 5 nominated for best picture..

On to other things-- Douglas is out of town this week for jobs. He had said he would drop me a line and let me know how its going, but I have heard nothing so far.. I am resisting temptation to e-mail or call.. keeping myself busy and away from the computer at home. Jeez-- Men - can't live with them can't shoot them. I know its nothing personal he is very busy on his new journey. It just so happens that when I get into any new relationship- especially after we start the bed room activities I become a bundle of insecurity and hormones and doubt, not the strong confident woman I have become over the last year or so. Point being, I don't need a man to complete my life, its just a nice addition. I need to be reminded of that every once in a while when I get like this... He wouldn't be coming around if he didn't like something about me-- its not just the sex - even though I am thoroughly enjoying it..

Hope everyone has a nice valentines day!

Friday Eve..

Hey all..
It's Friday Eve and you know what that means- another action packed weekend for me.
It starts tonight with my beer group at a new place called Rey's downtown greenville.
Tomorrow I'll be home catching up on TV that I taped this week and of course my BSG obsession.
Mom and Dad called, they want to come down on Saturday to have lunch and see Slumdog Millionaire. I may be cooking for Doug on Saturday night, and then my movie crew and I are planning to go to Asheville on Sunday to see Milk and maybe something else.

Things continue to go well with Doug, he brought dinner over last evening and
we watched Perfume the Story of a Murder.. very strange, great cast- Alan Rickman and Dustin Hoffman - weird premise and even creepier ending.. We ended up having to use both DVD players to watch the movie if you know what I mean..
Of course he went home to sleep around 1030 since I get up at 5am everyday which he considers an ungodly hour and he didn't want to get up that early..

Hope everyone has a stellar week!

Hugs
:-)

You are kind, caring, and empathetic. A lot of warm energy radiates from you.
And it's not an act - you truly like people. You get a charge from people being around you.

You are are easy going and very socially adaptable. You're willing to overlook peoples'quirks.
You enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and helping them if you can. Giving makes you feel good.

Jan 22, 2009

Hey all.. Lost, blew me away last night. I need to "re watch" it this weekend to make sure I got it all.. very twisty turny confusing - but I was so glad to be reunited with my friends..

Tomorrow, I am meeting lonestar9 and his sweet wife Silvia for dinner at Wasabi- I haven't had sushi in ages and am really looking forward to catching up.
I invited some of the other peeps- we'll see who joins us..
Doug cannot, as he is running a 5k on Saturday morning.. Oh well, I get to be with him that afternoon and will see how long I can stretch our time together.

It seems that our "little susu" is growing up. I've been hearing from folks that they have noticed a change in me- a growing confidence, and a glow about me in this past year. I suppose its because I have finally found where I belong, and people who accept me for who I really am- crazy and all! I get to be the most authentic me I have been in a long time. Thanks all for your love and support it means a lot!!!

I'll keep updating as things happen..

:-)

updates..

well gang, sorry its been so long - I have been busier than a one armed paper hanger. Thanksgiving was something of a small nightmare with the bicker-tons at each other for a week I was ready to leave as soon as I arrived.
Dad continues to make improvements, its just not as dire as my Aunt and Uncle assume it is, nor is it as rosy as my parents try to paint it.
Nick and Susan are now insisting that my sister and I buy new recliners for my parents - theory being that if it comes from the kids and grand kids it cannot be refused. now I get daily phone calls telling me of all kind of sales... Leave it alone people..
I had to run away on Friday am - I didn't dare tell them that the gingerbread party at melody's house was canceled. Saturday I went to see Twilight - a pretty good adaptation of the book- my biggest issue was Jasper he looked constipated all the time.

Sunday I went to a friends in home sports bar complete with urinal in the bathroom to watch football and drink beer. fun fun fun
Monday found me to be Festive at Fitzpatrick's with my beer group. I was exhibiting 3 beer behavior- a rarity for me. I was very gabby , flirty and grabby... oh well.. All who were there made allowances for my behavior.
This coming up weekend, I am driving up to charlotte to hang with melody and knead and then sunday I have a chrismahaunikwanizka party and monday is a progressive dinner.. a busy time for one who used to be a hermit and is now coming out of my shell.

Monday..

Well.... It was quite a weekend full of fun excitement, and sickness.
It didn't start well, I got sick at work on Friday and went home early. I was able to get my act together and go on my "brews cruise" in Asheville with my beer group- fun was had by all. Got back from the mountains around 730ish and we went off to our friend John and Rhonda's house where they have built a sports bar in their basement. My friend Allison got very trashed and very aggressive the more she drank- and was kind of making me mad. She apologized and all is back to normal. Doug has the patience of a saint I swear, he drove 6 of us in the company van to Asheville and back 4 women and 2 men. Tricia came home with us - she hid in the back and popped up later.
Adam was a good sport and put up with a lot of abuse from all of us- Flowers in his hair etc.. Fun was had by all. Maybe next time, I won't be sick and will be able to enjoy the product more.
Sunday, I kind of laid low, my tummy was still not up to par- but there was absolutely NO WAY I was going to miss the TSO concert. I went for my third time. Lucky me managed to get seats on the floor 4th row third seat in. 2 and a half hours of awesomeness! I was totally blown away as usual.
Went out to the garage this morning and to my horror, my car was covered in bits of foam! Someone must have poured out their drink in the bi-lo garage and it landed on my car. I am going to see my uncle Nick the "car god" this weekend for Thanksgiving, and he would be horrified if I showed up with my car looking so bad. I had to get it all off this morning before work.
Work is quiet this morning so far. turns out there were 8 of us here who got sick over the weekend.
I am off to see the family for the rest of the week- Have a great Turkey day everyone! Breakon87- I hope you have a great Thursday!

its Friday!!!!!

Hey all and happy Friday! - Mel, Hope you have fun at the reunion, if it went half as well as mine, you'll have fun- a good bit of them are now my facebook friends and I may just have to go to 25th next year because of it.
Me, I get to go on an Asheville Brews cruise with my Beer Meetup group tomorrow- we are touring and sampling beers from 3 micro breweries up there. They got 4 inches of snow last night and the high today is supposed to be only 32. we'll all have to dress warmly.
Sunday, I hope I am not too hungover to enjoy the TSO that evening- Its my third straight year of going. Then, I know I will be too wired to sleep I'll indulge in 24 : Redemption when I get home.

I am sick to hear that Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone have been canceled, and that they are moving Life On Mars come January- I will have to juggle the DVR scheduler yet again!

Hope we all have a stellar weekend, and I am sure I will have stories on Monday!!

I guess its winter now..

Another chilly Tuesday- not much to say, enjoyed my weekend. I had a ball on friday with the ladies, got a lot done on saturday and Sunday, I indulged in the James Bond movie with lonestar9 his wife, and our mutual friends Tricia and Adam. Not enough eye candy for either the men or the women, but the stunts were spectacular and would not have played well on my 27 inch TV.
Glad I got to see it on the big screen.
Last night I stopped into Total wine and picked up a 4pack of my new favorite beer- St. Bernardus ABT 12 - its pricey -about $4.00 a beer -so I will save it for special occasions.
This weekend I get to go on an Asheville Brews cruise with my friends on Saturday, and then get to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra on Sunday - 3rd year in a row.. (I guess I like those guys)

Dad continues to do well, they took him off of one medication and have arranged for all follow up visits to be in Asheville instead of Durham.

Hope everyone has a great week!
